Comparative study of chemical composition of the halophyte species native to the Persian (Arabian) gulf

Extensive comparative characterization was performed to explore halophytes native the Persian (Arabian) Gulf. Ten species collected from Western region of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE) were analyzed for their lignocellulosic components as well ash and extractives content. It found that significantly differ in content carbohydrates, lignin, total ash-free ash. The negatively influence carbohydrates. Based on characteristics, it is concluded Cornulaca aucheri most attractive a source Tetraena (Zygophyllum) qatarensis has potential produce highest yield fraction.
